Frog Army Festival

The Frog Festival is an annual festival celebrated by the frog army  in 1721. It started as a celebration of winning the Great Pond War. Our traditional way of celebrating this is we take a gold cup and fill it with pond water then take a sip or two for good luck, Many frog members say two is more lucky but that's your choice to believe. After you take a sip pour the rest on you for wisdom and good fortune for the future then you lay down your cup and bow down. Fun Fact : this day will also be the celebration of the crowning of the new queen or as people would say the coronation, other fun activities we do on this day we play games such as Frogs and flies and many more! Also we do dances like the lilypad dance or the frog leap. This day has been special to our culture for many years. It is celebrated on March 13 so get ready when it comes up because we guarantee you will have so much fun

  The setting was the peaceful days in the 1700s, under Juliett’s rule. Everything was going well in the kingdom. The people had food, were happy, & Jannet, Juliett’s daughter, was about to turn 15.
One fateful day in Frogsville, the ducks came. They told all the frogs to move away and make space for the ducks. Of course the frogs were not happy about this, for Frogsville was their home. This news was brought to Queen Juliett & King Athick. And so on the outskirts of the Frog Kingdom the war commenced.

There was pecking and swallowing, ducking & hopping, quacking & croaking. They started at 6:00 and at noon King Athick couldn't bare to see more frog blood on his hands, so he joined the fight for Frogsville.          

Sadly, the king was stabbed in the back and he collapsed to his webbed feet and said the frog pledge one last time. “I am frog. You are frog. We are frog. Frog is frog,” The king’s final pledge to his kingdom and we honor Athick  for his loyalty to the frogs and his sacrifice. The war continued on for 2 years until the ducks retreated and the frogs won.      

Yet 2 months after the ducks retreated they stole the frog gem. The frog gem is a gem that strengthens the life of a queen so the queen may last longer so after the gem was stolen queen Juliett was getting weaker and weaker and with Athick no longer there then the queen would need extra help managing the army. But sadly on may 1st the queen died without her strength she was having pain and breathing problems. Luckily there was still Jannet the queen’s daughter that stepped up to the throne at age 15 one of the youngest queens in frog history. She put together George Frogginton’s team consisting of General croak,Lil hopper, Leafy boy and George Frogginton himself. It was a small team but a good one. They had located the duck's storage facility for the gem. Lil hopper distracted the guards, he was good at this because people often mistook his size for his strength. Then  Leafy boy, General croak, and George continued on; after a while they had spotted the gem. General croak and Leafy boy took the front entrance while George Froggington could grab the gem from the side. General croak and Leafy boy banged whatever they could find together and then whispered loudly, distracting the guards in the gem room. All the while George Froggington sneaked up and grabbed it from the side unfortunately his hands were too slippery and dropped the gem he picked it up again but it was too late the ducks were moving right towards him! He threw it to his comrades before sacrificing his life and being pecked to death. The gem was returned on May 13th and so it became the Frog Festival celebrating the success of the fight and honoring Athick, Juliett, and George Froggington.

 The great pond war started in 1719 between the frogs and the ducks.The Frogs were peacefully sitting in their pond, when General Duckingworth came in, and told them all to evacuate the pond so the ducks could live there. The frogs were angry, and they set their troops to attack. The General brought the duck army, and so started the battle of Fort Frogtitan. The frogs then planned a surprise attack to the ducks camp that battle lasted about 2 years. After the battle ended they fought for two more months, before the ducks surrendered and left.The frog celebrated with the first Frog Festival (SEE FROG FESTIVAL) They won on March 20, Which is Frog independence day and also National Frog day. 

 The frog queen Juliette was called the best frog queen ever. She was fair, and raised money to help the army,  and She helped with the great pond war. She grew up in a poor family near the slums of the pond, then she met the king at the market one day, and they instantly fell in love. They got married and had a little girl named Janette. When the great pond war came, Her husband the king was killed in the battle. The family was devastated and Juliette stepped up to fulfill her role as queen. She helped her people and did all she could to make sure nobody grew up like she did. Sadly, When the gem was stolen she died ,and could not be brought back because as a royal, her life was tied to the gem. Young Janette, only 15, had to step up to the crown, and still ruled for 95 more years.

 The Frog gem is the center of the army. It is in a secret spot that nobody knows except the Frog queen,The power grows with each new person who joins the army in 1736 after the great pond war,The ducks got angry that they lost so they stole the gem the gem is what keeps many frogs alive.So many frogs died the ones who were still alive went to retrieve the gems due to the frogs dying on the way,only sixteen out of forty three made it but they fought well.One of those frogs was George Frogington who grabbed the gem,then sacrificed himself when he was cornered by throwing it to a nearby frog. So, on Febuary 6th the frog gem was safely restored and February 6th is now known as George Frogington day
